The good Editors at BLLA Media asked me to opine about art in ten boutique hotels around the world — and it seemed only fair to skip any work that we may have done and celebrate some of the outstanding properties that I wish we had worked on...
Hotel Management recently covered the designs for two properties, Courtyard Santa Monica and Hampton Inn & Suites Santa Monica—and we’re pleased as punch to be working with Studio HBA on both. Courtyard Santa Monica features our studio artists’ handiwork on acrylic panels, wood print triptychs, beachy wallcoverings, and more. Meanwhile, Hampton Inn & Suites Santa Monica will show off curated vintage black and white beach photography printed on acrylic.
We were delighted to be included in several trade magazines this fall, each of which showed off the art collection we curated for Hilton Cleveland Downtown. This article from Boutique Design, highlights artwork from the collection we curated and created with design firm Anderson Miller for Cuyahoga County, the owner of the hotel. You’ll see the not-to-be-missed 46-foot crowd-sourced mural conceived by Helen and Jesse Kalisher, the triumphant sculpture by artist Jerry Schmidt, and a gallery wall of black and white pieces by artist Matt Dibble. Thanks to Anderson Miller, Cuyahoga County, and all of the independent artists we worked with who collectively made this property a stunning achievement.
And the ASID Texas Gulf Coast 2016 Ruby Award for Commercial Large Firm goes to…Gensler for their work on Destination Hotels’ Hotel Derek Terrace Suites! We created and printed wallcoverings and canvases for six different suites. Congratulations to the team and thanks for involving us in the project!
Jesse was recently interviewed by Paul Gauguin Cruises and asked about his tips for capturing great images in the South Pacific.

Thank you Cindy Allen (Editor in Chief, ID Magazine) for featuring us on a full page of editorial in October’s Market Tabloid. Featuring a selection of custom Conde Nast images and a digital installation from our curatorial department, the article captures much of what we’ve been up to!

The premiere magazine for interior designers serving the Hospitality industry featured Jesse's work and our gallery in its November/December issue. Among other things, they wrote, "A mind for business and an eye for art, Kalisher is the whole package."
I kind of rebel against having one thing, he explains. My ‘one thing’ is photography. I want permission to be able to do everything, whether street photography or architectural work. It’s all just geometry, shapes and story to me. Jesse says in this new article about his work in nationally recognized Digital Photo Pro magazine.
Jesse was featured in B&W Magazine.
The photographer from Chapel Hill Magazine arrived on a day when one of the staff had brought her dog to work. No problem, make the dog part of the photo shoot! This resulted in a fun, if not stylized look at a typical day here at Kalisher!
Los Angeles based "Art and Living" magazine named Jesse one of 23 "great" artists to keep an eye on 2009. We're honored to have the acknowledgement.
