Le Meridien Reemerges as The Jay, San Francisco

A striking building all on its own, the John Portman-designed Brutalist landmark has gotten the full glow up with art that stands up to its stunning architectural design.

Formerly a Le Meridien, the hotel is now part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Dramatic forms and bold Brutalist structure make this property a unique piece of art in itself. Designers at AvroKO were intentional in their choices, balancing the drama and legacy of the hotel’s architect with artwork that lends a softer touch.

Our curators worked with artists and fabricators to create textural, dimensional pieces that feel tactile and intimate within the impressive curves and shadows of the hotel. Our studio artists and production studios combined their talents to create additional, custom dimensional art – laser cut matboard layered in its frame creates calm shadows against a backdrop of rhythmic wallcovering in the hotel’s meeting rooms. From sculptures to framed works, this collection is all about dimension. Read more here. Explore the art collection at The Jay below:
