On Location
Jesse always shoots on location. His work is all about seeing the world that exists through his eyes—whether it's capturing the beauty of a wild landscape, a stunning skyline, drawing our eye to architectural details or the subtle expression on the face of a human being.
All of these elements in his photographic collections combine to define the essence of the destination.

The whole family...
When Jesse travels, the whole Kalisher clan comes along. "Our kids have seen volcanoes erupting from the deck of a cruise ship, climbed Mayan pyramids, snorkeled with tropical fish...And they're only 4 and 6 years old! They're great travelers."

Getting some perspective ...
Sometimes taking the perfect shot involves getting yourself into precarious or uncomfortable positions. Lying in the middle of the road, climbing lamposts, perching on the edge of dangerous cliffs, wading through crab-infested water, bouncing around in a tiny lifeboat... So far so good, Jesse hasn't written off a camera...yet.

The glamorous ...
Jesse's work takes him around the world to take pictures in some marvelously magical places.

An the not-so-glamorous...
And then, Jesse sometimes battles everything from extreme temperatures to unruly animals to get the shot. "I remember as a kid, I used to take pictures from the car, usually while my mom or dad were still driving. Those were the days..." - —Jesse

And another thing ... Jesse also is a talented radio presenter who has guest-hosted shows for NPR, had his own comedy spot on KFI Radio. His show "We're Not the Tourists You're Looking For" was a big hit on both coasts and he continues to perform onstage as a storyteller. He and his wife, Helen, also started KidSafeFilms.org which led him to Washington D.C. where he introduced "The Family Friendly Flights Act". |
